Sunrise at St Kilda!

The Sunrise show was having there show at St Kilda beach, so my mum, best friend (Steph) and I went to the beach at 6am! They were having a special show for Australia Day as it was a public holiday on Monday and for this show they had performances from Reece Mastin, Justice Crew and Evermore. We stood around for 4 hours watching the show with having minimal sleep. When I got home I felt dead!! It was actually pretty cool being able to see all the behind the scenes work in filming a live show. Sunrise is my favourite morning show and I always put it on while I'm eating breakfast and getting ready for school.

What is your favourite morning show?

Happy Australia Day and happy birthday Ellen DeGeneres! My outfit isn't patriotic today but it was a cold summer's day at 23 degrees celsius (73 fahrenheit). I'm always the one for simplicity with statement pieces. Today people start up their BBQ's, eat a lot of sausages on their patio and go to the beach, but today's weather makes me just want to have an endless afternoon nap.

My mum and I went into the city, did a little bit of shopping and had a sugar high at the Lindt Cafe. Man that place is good but my thighs hate me afterwards.. arrgghh the endless war with food. I guess eating in moderation is the way.

Some patriotic horses :)

The day my brother got married at the zoo!!

On the 29th of December 2012, my brother (William) got married to his longtime girlfriend Rachel. I was lucky enough to be Rachel's maid-of-honor and after months of planning the day seemed to arrive so quickly. Their beautiful wedding was at Werribee Open Range Safari Zoo and family and friends from across the country came down to be there on their special day.

Their ceremony was in the afternoon and it was in a beautiful garden opposite the gorilla enclosure. You could see the gorilla sitting on top of the hill with the sun behind him, he looked so amazing but also like he could attack you at any time. The gorilla scared the fuck out of my brother when they were taking photos up against the glass of its enclosure, it run up to them and banged against the glass. I wish I was there to see that, it would've have been so funny to hear my so-called tough brother scream.
After the ceremony, the guest went on a safari tour around the zoo, whilst the new bride and groom went on a tour to feed the giraffes. The reception was held in a function room next to the meerkat enclosure. It was obvious that the children would love all the animals they were encountering but even the oldies looked so happy and amazed to see all these creatures.

There never goes a day when I don't embarrass myself and on this day I did it in front of 160 people. There's always that one person who gets overly emotional during a wedding speech. That was me.. FUCK! I became really overwhelmed and started crying, really bad (lol)!

Other than my unfortunate emotional outburst, the day was so wonderful. I'm not being biased here because it was my brother's wedding, but it was the best wedding ever! It was so different from a tradition wedding and was just plain fun. I had a great time and was so happy to see my brother and my new sister-in-law have the greatest time of their life. I wish you guys the best for the future and love you so much!

Striped Shorts!

I love how simple lines of a pair of shorts or the bright colour of a necklace can change an outfit. This is my first pair of denim shorts with some kind of print on it. I'm more of a solid colour or ripped shorts kind of girl, but I'm starting to dig patterns (lol). I personally think the easiest way to be comfortable and stylish is to make a normal piece of clothing a statement through patterns or bright colours. Also, adding bright or quirky accessories can instantly give a simple outfit a fashion lift.

Blue Tuxedo Pants

I think I'm in love with my new Cheap Monday jeans. They were a bargain at $18 and fit me perfectly. Jeans or pants in general usually never fit me properly length wise so I usually just fold them on the inside (I should really start getting them hemmed), so I was so excited when these jeans fit me perfectly length wise. Here's a secret: the jeans were meant to be cropped at the ankle.... that's why they fit my short frame LOL!

If you are planning on buying/wearing tuxedo pants I recommend styling the rest of the outfit to the colour of the stripe. It gives a balance of the colours and makes the look more polished.

Study Day!

With only 2 weeks left until school starts I really need to get crackin' on my holiday homework. It feels like my 2 months off school has gone by so quickly and the beginning of my last year of high-school is right around the corner.

My friends and I decided it was a good idea to go to our local library and study together, as majority of us was just starting it. Having companions whilst studying has it's pros and cons (lol). The pros are you can seek help from them and work on things together and the cons are when one of your guys are distracted everyone  is distracted. Also the library was holding a play group with a bunch of toddlers; it was so annoying!

Tips for a successful study day with friends:
  • have a good hearty meal beforehand so you are fully energised and don't feel snacky.
  • be organised, have all your equipment and books with you.
  • bring headphones, just in case you need to block out any distractions.
  • if there is a separate quiet room in your library take advantage of this and use it.

Please ignore the protruding bump in my jumper haha. I promise I'm not pregnant, my shirt wasn't tucked in properly :P

Cut-Outs on Chapel St.

A cut-out dress for a 40 degree (celcius) day? Yes please!
I love this dress for a hot day, it is light and non-restricting.
I adore the cut-outs on the side as they don't show too much skin and make the dress a little different.

My friend and I went to Chapel St in South Yarra to take advantage of the sales at Topshop. If you are in Melbourne, Chapel St is a place you must go to do some shopping and eat some fantastic food. We ate at a cute little cafe and the owner gave us a complimentary muffin, it was so yummy!
