All these midi-skirts are from Asos.

I think I have fallen in love with the look of midi-skirt and heels. Now all I need are three dinner dates to put these looks into practice, oh wait #singlelife.

Due to my height, I refused to wear skirts and dresses that cut below my knee because I thought they exaggerated my miniature frame. After seeing midi/full skirts on so many bloggers with high heels, I fell love with how elegant it looked and desired it for myself. Just the simple heel reduced that look of being drowned in fabric. Through a midi-skirt you are covering a lot of leg, which nowadays is quite an odd sight when it comes to skirts and dresses. We have become accustomed to mini skirts and everything being cut at least above the knee. Full midi-skirts are bringing back elegance and looking good without the necessity of exposing skin. I'm not saying that exposing skin is a bad thing, because I still do love my high-waisted skirts cutting above the knee and short-shorts, but at the same time I don't think we should have the mentality to only restrict ourselves to those lengths because that is the norm these days.

I'm a firm believer that you can dress modestly and still look fantastic, I don't believe that flaunting it has to mean exposing it.

Hope you enjoyed! Tell me your thoughts on midi skirts :)

Overalls: Chicnova, Necklace: similar, Shoes: similar, Bag: similar, Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Sunnies: Ray-ban

I know these photos aren't the best edits, but I'm still working on my photoshop skills :)

You may remember that one of my recent posts featured these denim overalls from Chicnova and I wanted to play around with styling them. Here is look 2, that I wore for a study day in the city with a friend. I paired it with wedges, a collared top and statement necklaces for a more sophisticated vibe to the playful overalls.

Hope you enjoy!

I'd like to thank the wind for making my hair get all up in my grill.

Day 2 of my Spring school holidays and you guessed it I am studying at the library, oh and day 1 I was studying at Starbucks and tomorrow on day 3 I will be attending an English lecture. Oh the perks of year 12! This 2 weeks of so called holidays where the sun is finally coming out to play I will voluntarily enclose myself in the walls of the local library, cafe, classroom and lecture room as my final exams (that my life depend on) are fast approaching.

For this day of many hours of study at the library I kept it to my usual basics of a collared shirt, knit jumper but swapped the usual jeans for denim shorts.

Pearl Headband

I was recently contacted by French accessory company Accessoires Cheveux Chics and they are an online boutique that sells gorgeous headwear accessories. They sent me this lovely headband and I instantly fell in love with it, as it was great quality and looked so elegant.
When I was browsing through the website I was shocked at how many beautiful headbands, clips, hair ties etc. they stocked. All of which had an elegant and sophisticated vibe to them. I love headwear and was kind of obsessed with bow headbands and clips during my early years of high school and whilst I still love headbands I have moved from solely bow headbands to other lovely designs. If you are making the transition of wearing more head band designs or just want to buy gorgeous accessories to put in your hair, Accessoires Cheveux Chics is the way to go!

Thanks for reading :) xx

Denim Overalls

Dungarees: Chicnova, Bag: similar, Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Nails: Essie, Shoes: similar, T-shirt: similar

These awesome denim overalls are from Chicnova, an online fashion store with a huge variety of gorgeous pieces for great prices.
I decided after long thought to get a pair of denim overalls, as I had seen so many amazing bloggers wear them and look incredibly chic. I think I need to play around a bit more with styling them to get it right. Who would have thought a clothing piece that I wore as a child in kindergarden would become the new essential street style wear? I definitely would not have guessed it, but seeing how some amazing fashionitas wore it, I wanted to give it a shot. I love how denim overalls or dungarees (whatever you want to call them) has that tomboy-ish feel to them and with certain accessories or add on pieces they can be so much more. I love trying new trendy pieces, but because they will most likely go out I do not want to spend a lot of money on them, that's why I think store like Chicnova is so great, because it let's you have access to those pieces without breaking your budget.

Ps- I am aware that it looks like I have penis in some of the shots. Damn Denim!

This lovely blouse is from fiigirl, which is a online fashion store. It is a wholesale shop, meaning their prices are cheap and trust me they are. This blouse with the gorgeous pearl detailed sleeves is around $5, which I think is an absolutely insanely cheap price.
Whilst browsing the items in their store, I found so many great pieces that were classics and on trend, all of which were at really low prices. The shipping is also inexpensive which is also another great benefit!

Statement with Romwomen

All the items in the above outfit are from online fashion store Romwomen.

Romwomen has a wide variety of clothing from t-shirt, blazers and skirts and also accessories for very affordable prices.

The outfit I created above produces a chic statement with the outgoing print of the blazer which is balanced out with the plain white sleeveless shirt and black pants. Whilst the rest of the outfit is kept simple, the pants add a little statement with the two textures of faux leather and cotton. The jewellery is kept minimal with one large bracelet that adds to the colour from the blazer. I have always loved the kitty flats, but could not justify spending $500+ on them and the replicas on romwomen are roughly $40 which is an incredible saving!

Layering it up once again

Melbourne weather being it's usual self has decided once again to be indecisive. You may have remembered that my last post was one full of joy from the aspect of the weather warming up. Well Melbourne decided to switch of the sudden warm weather and immediately go back to winter on Friday, but now it's nice sunny weather again- make up your mind weather gods!

Even though Melbourne's bipolar weather is at it again, I do enjoy layering. So here is to my last (hopefully) winter looking layering outfit and hopefully spring layering outfits to come.

How's your weather?

Ready for the beach!

Before the comments about my title I just wanted to clarify that I am not crazy nor in denial that summer in ending, but actually for me it has just hit spring and summer is on the way. I live in Australia in the southern hemisphere where we experience the opposite season from our friends in the northern hemisphere. Here we are saying goodbye to our chilly (to be honest our weather is never that cold) weather and joyously welcoming the warmer and sunnier weather. Here in Melbourne we are only 3 days into spring and the transition into the hotter weather has been immediate and already making me excited to go to the beach.

I love going to the beach; the coastal winds, the gorgeous view, the sand between your toes and most importantly the swimwear. I love going into the water and wearing an awesome bikini. I was recently introduced to italian bikini and clothing brand Divissima that sells a huge range of swimwear to cater for anyones likes. I ordered a simple reversible black and white bikini, which I love for it's simplicity, quality material and make. Something that made me instantly like this brand was that you picked the size for the bikini top and bottom, which is an absolute advantage for un-proportionate girls like me. The pink packaging the swimwear came in was quite cute and the brand lanyard that came with it was another plus. I'm so excited to go to the beach and cannot wait to wear my new bikini that is a direct reflection of the simple element to my style!
