Closing Night, Melbourne Fashion Week

The elegant Melbourne Town Hall was transformed into a fashion Mecca for Melbourne Fashion Week. The classic stone and marble interiors of the Town Hall were adorned with enormous wild flower installations and transformed pink under reflective lights. Racks of clothes by Australian designers were wheeled across the lobby and hall ways of this historic building. Outside of the grand entrance was a bar, DJ and even a make-up claw machine.

It was the last night of Melbourne Fashion Week and Melbourne's fashion enthusiasts, including my colleagues and I, lined up on Swanston St to see the Spring/Summer collections of Australia's best designers. Lined in the centre of the runway were flowers enclosed in an ice block, with the models walking alongside of these grand centre pieces.

My favourite designers that night were Romance was Born and my love Dion Lee. As always Romance was Born bought out an eccentric mix of colours and textures that all just seemed to work together. One of my favourite designers, Dion Lee, showed some gorgeous structured dresses and an amazing orange fur coat (which I need!!).

What was your favourite designer from Melbourne Fashion Week? Or for my non-Melbourne friends, what is your favourite home-grown designer?

Thanks for reading!
